◆「物々交換プロジェクト」とは・・

The Barter Project invites you to exchange a work of art by the artist with any item. Yi Pei welcomes you to view and reserve the artwork you are interested in and meet up with him to exchange it with an item you select. With the story embedded in Yi Pei’s art-making as well as the story brought by you alongside your item, the Barter Project encourages a reciprocal act that aims to facilitate a conversation.

Let’s exchange items, let’s exchange stories.

「物々交換プロジェクト」では、イーペイ制作のアート作品と参加者の持ち物を交換してもらいます。アーティストと直接出会い、作品を鑑賞し、興味の湧いた作品は予約することで、ご自身の選んだ持ち物と交換してもらうことができます。「物々交換プロジェクト」において交換行為をすることで、イーペイの制作にまつわるストーリーとあなたの持ち物にあるストーリー同士の対話を促していくことも目的です。

◆参加方法は・・

参加希望の方は直接オープン・スタジオで作品を見ていただくか、ウェブにUPされる作品（今後完成次第で順次UP予定）をご覧いただき、交換したい作品をご予約ください。オープン・スタジオでは希望日をご予約いただき、制作風景の見学やアーティストと直接話していただきながら作品を見ていただくことも可能です。もちろん、オープン・スタジオの際に直接、気に入った作品とご自身の持ち物を交換いただけます！

ロー・イー・ペイの作品について

Loh Yi Pei / ロー・イー・ペイ　マレーシア出身、オーストラリア在住

Yi Pei’s works represent an interplay between inner mind and outer world through depiction of landscapes and objects in combination of the real and the imaginary. The interlock of realistic and abstract landscapes, represented by the objects, shapes and patterns, in his art often suggests an “open route” for the audience to discover. Since interested in drawing and painting as a kid, to the artist, art-making now is a way to observe and engage with the surroundings and to introspect constantly. Being always interested in water-soluble pigments and further studied in Beijing, China, Yi Pei’s primary media are Chinese ink on rice paper and watercolour on paper.

イーペイの作品は、現実と想像が相まった物体や風景を描くことを通して、心の内面と外の世界の相互作用をあらわしています。様々な物や形、模様などによってあらわされる現実と抽象の風景が組み合わされることで、彼の作品世界では観客自らが発見できる「自由な回路」をも示してくれます。

幼少の頃から絵を描くことに関心があり、いまや作品を創作することはイーペイにとって周辺環境を観察し、関わり、また常に内省しつづける手段となっています。日頃から水彩に関心があり、中国は北京で学びを深めたことで、水彩、水墨画（半紙に墨汁）はイーペイの主な絵画手法となっています。
